As a QML Suite Product Manager, you will drive the vision for the QML suites that maximizes the impact of Zapata’s research on delivering Quantum Advantage.  

About the Role 

As a QML Suites Product Owner, you will work with the VP of Product Management to drive the vision for the QML suites product that maximizes the impact of Zapata’s research on delivering quantum advantage. 

This role interacts strongly with the scientists here at Zapata. You will be required to understand at a high level what our research team has produced. You have the software expertise to know what needs to be done to package the code that the scientists design into reusable components within the QML suite. Both quantum and classical computing are areas in which Zapata invests heavily. QML is an area that we believe will have a short timeline towards practical quantum advantage.   

In conjunction with the VP of Product Management, you are the main driver of commercial success for Zapata’s classical and quantum ML capabilities. You will incorporate feedback from customers and users as well as strategic directions from leadership in order to drive successful product development.   

Key Responsibilities include

• Oversee a cross-functional team dedicated to the QML suite  
• Work with ML researchers, professional services team and engineering team to gather requirements and understand product features and limits
• Maintain a product backlog and create reference documentation when necessary  

• Maintain an Agile process throughout the product development lifecycle  

• Manage and maintain the product roadmap for the QML suite product    
• Execute on the strategy determined by the VP of Product Management and of our clients
• Work with the cross functional team on QA, release dates, checkoff on releases and own launch plans 
• Coordinate with sales and marketing on product features and collateral esp. tutorials and documentation such as FAQs, API documentation 

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

• Bachelor's in physics, computer science, math or related field  

• Experience in product with AI/ML products 
• 3+ Years of industry experience developing code packages 
• 3 years of experience launching ML related products or technologies  
• Foundational understanding building, training and deploying ML models using various packages 

• The ability to turn research code into a product or package that can be used by others 
• Familiarity with lean and agile approaches. Experience with Kanban and scrum   

Nice to Have 

• Executive-level communication and presentation skills 

• A proven record of successful delivery of complex products or services for enterprise-level customers 
• Strong business acumen and problem-solving skills 
• Strong technical background in enterprise software products, including private cloud and customer-hosted solutions. 
• Strong technical understanding of enterprise software development and deployment tools.
